Homemade Fig chutney – so simple to make and adds amazing flavour to burgers, baguettes and chicken dishes.

INGREDIENTS
  • 250g figs, finely chopped

  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar

  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 1/2 teaspoon mixed spice

  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil

GUIDE / INSTRUCTIONS
  • Combine figs, vinegar, sugar, cinnamon, mixed spice and oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring, for 2 minutes or until mixture comes to the boil. Reduce heat to low.

  • Simmer, partially covered, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes or until mixture is thick. Cool. Transfer to an airtight container.
