Virginia and Ryan

Amalocal ambassadors and owners of F45 Training in Bay Street, Brighton

Having taken over the rest of Australia and currently taking over the world by storm, F45 Training is finally conquering Victorian shores. The newest F45 Training studio has opened its doors in Brighton, Victoria, with many more studios opening in other suburbs of Melbourne in the next few months.

What does F45 Training offer?

F45 Training offers functional team training. F45 stands for Functional and 45 minutes. Functional training adapts or develops exercises which allow individuals to perform the activities of daily life more easily and without injuries.

F45 Training is also fun, fast and effective thus particularly suited to people want to get fit and healthy but have significant time constraints. Participants exercise in a team environment, which keeps them motivated and enthusiastic, and they are in and out within 45 minutes whilst training their muscles in the most effective way to see great results.

Mary Lucas

Amalocal Ambassador and Accredited Practising Dietitian and Nutritionist in the Bayside area.

While bringing up 3 children (along with her husband Rob), Mary has worked for over 10 years in her local area, supporting and educating a huge range of people to manage their health and well-being through healthy eating.

‘Getting back to the basics with your food’ is so important to Mary.

Whether helping someone manage a condition such as diabetes or IBS, or helping them understand how to optimise their health through better eating, Mary always focus on the role of fresh, unprocessed food in the diet.

I am a huge advocate of AmaLocal as I see first hand the effect of poor food choices on my clients’ physical and mental well-being. Let’s spread the word and keep our community well fed and well connected.

Annie and Shane Brereton

Our very own Bayside Salvage Merchants

Over the summer of 2017, Annie and Shane travelled along our beautiful Australian coastline. They both were ready for something new, but what? With a goal to work together and build a business for their family, Salvage Merchants was born!

The trip Shane and Annie took was abundant with nature, gorgeous scenery, beautiful camping spots and simple living. It ignited in them a desire to live more gently, creatively and purposefully.

Annie says ‘Our business proposition is built around Rescue, Re-purpose & Reuse. Many of us place very little value on many of the things we purchase and therefore when it is no longer needed, or broken, we simply discard it. We decided we could no longer live like this, and wanted to make a meaningful change in our own lives and also have an impact beyond our family. Salvage Merchants has made us much more aware of the impact of our actions on our world and that we are taking steps, albeit small, to modify our footprint.’

Lisa Sewards

Bayside artist and bird lover

My first art exhibition in 2012 was entitled OWL… part proceeds from this exhibition was donated to the Birdlife Australia for their endangered Owl program.  I have since been a member and love their dedication to creating a bright future for our Australian birds.  The public can be involved in numerous local projects with local experts, and all information is on their website www.birdlife.org.au.

Thank you to Amalocal for supporting this not-for-profit organisation and contributing to the protection and conservation of our beautiful native Bayside birds
