Project Description

Full Recipe in Details

INGREDIENTS
  • 3 – 4 medium apples, peeled, cored and diced
  • I like to use 2 granny’s and 2 Red ones (do not peel)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon raw sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
THE CRUMBLE MAKING
  • 1/4 cup plain flour
  • 1/4 cup raw sugar (or use honey/malt syrup for a sugar-free version)
  • 1/3 cup organic rolled oats or your favourite nutty Muesli mix
  • 60g Gippsland Jersey lightly salted butter, chopped
  • Ice-cream or whipped Gippsland Jersey cream, to serve
GUIDE / INSTRUCTIONS
  • Preheat your oven to 180C/160C fan-forced. Combine apples, juice, sugar and water in small saucepan over low-medium heat. Cook, stirring, for 3 minutes or until the apple is very slightly softened.
  • To make the crumble, combine the flour, sugar, oats and butter in a bowl. Use your fingertips to rub the butter into the flour mixture until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  • Transfer your hot fruit mixture into a 3 cup-capacity ovenproof dish, draining off some of the liquid. Sprinkle crumble mixture over the apples. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden and delicious.

NOTES

Top tip – feel free to add strawberries, berries and any other slightly old fruit to the fruit mixture – a great way to Jazz up your apple crumble and waste less!

Serve warm with ice-cream or whipped cream. Enjoy!

Have a super week ahead and enjoy eating well and staying healthy!
