Homemade Fig chutney – so simple to make and adds amazing flavour to burgers, baguettes and chicken dishes.
INGREDIENTS
250g figs, finely chopped
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 teaspoon mixed spice
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
GUIDE / INSTRUCTIONS
Combine figs, vinegar, sugar, cinnamon, mixed spice and oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring, for 2 minutes or until mixture comes to the boil. Reduce heat to low.
Simmer, partially covered, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes or until mixture is thick. Cool. Transfer to an airtight container.
