Crimson Seedless Grapes

This week’s produce mix includes the amazing variety of local summer fruits we have at this time of the year, from delicious stone fruits to strawberries, grapes and new season apples. The only local fruit favourites missing are citrus but these will come later in the local season (just in time for the cold and flu season!).

Our produce feature this week is the delicious local Crimson Seedless grapes…enjoy….here’s a great shot of these beauties just before picking at the farm.

Nutrition
Grapes are naturally low GI, thus a great source of long-lasting energy and a perfect pick-me-up when peckish. The glucose and fructose in grapes are ‘good’ simple sugars which provide a great healthy source of energy and nutrition. Grapes develop natural sugars as they ripen on the vine, but they do not become any sweeter once picked.

Try these recipe ideas with Crimson grapes:
Snack: Crimson seedless delicious eaten raw on their own as a lunchbox snack or added to fruit salads and especially to cheese platters.
Desert: Set whole grapes in jelly or natural yogurt and serve with ice-cream.
BBQ: Sauté until soft on the BBQ and serve with meat and mixed with vegetables, spices and couscous, Marrakesh style.

They are available in our local season from Late January to April/May.
Store unwashed grapes in a container or paper/plastic bag in the fridge until ready to wash and eat venta de viagra en sevilla. Return fresh grapes to the fridge within two hours of serving. They can be served cold or at room temperature, depending on personal preference (and the temperature outside!)
