Full Recipe in Details

This week is the start of delicious local New Season Nectarines and Peaches. I have included one of my all time favourite Cinnamon Nectarine BBQ recipes below – an amazing and easy Summer desert or salad on the BBQ. Both Nectarines and Peaches are also perfect warm or cold in salads.

INGREDIENTS
  • 40 g (2 tablespoons) butter. Milly’s home-made lemon butter is a great option here – no need to heat or melt it – just marinade straight onto your fruit and sprinkle with the cinnamon. Use less or no sugar as the lemon butter is sweet.

  • 1 – 2 tablespoons soft brown sugar. (use honey or malt syrup if you like)

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon or sweet mixed spice (my favourite one).

  • 4 – 8 firm ripe nectarines, halved, stone removed. Firm peaches are also amazing done this way.

  • Frozen or cold yoghurt or your favourite vanilla ice cream to serve.

  • Drizzle some delicious balsamic and fresh Roasted Nuts, Mint, Thyme or Sage leaves to serve.

GUIDE / INSTRUCTIONS
  • Preheat BBQ to medium-high heat. Using the BBQ, melt butter with cinnamon in a small saucepan over medium heat.

  • Place nectarines, cut side up, onto BBQ (or pan if you like) and brush liberally with the cinnamon butter.

  • Sprinkle fruit evenly with brown sugar then BBQ for 3-4 minutes or until sugar melts and caramelises slightly.

  • Remove fruit from grill and stand for 3-5 minutes to cool slightly before serving with your favorite ice-cream or yogurt. Yumm!
